Salon Forte owner and Master hair stylist Denny Vagner has produced a series of educational videos. The 15 Minute Precision Haircuts DVD series teach hair stylists the methods needed to cut the most popular hairstyles, quickly and accurately. Hair stylists who follow Mr. Vagner’s directions will be able to cut any hair style in 15 minutes or less. This time does not include the consultation, shampoo, and finishing of the hair. Stylists who follow the steps will be able to serve more clients every day, and earn more money.

Salon owners who provide occasional classes to their stylists can complement their training schedule with these DVD’s. Both the stylist and salon owner will benefit from more efficient cutting, drying, and finishing techniques.

DVD’s are available for the following haircuts: long, medium, and short layers, the bob, the shag, men’s shag, and men’s combination clipper cut. Videos demonstrating more efficient blow drying and texturizing techniques will be available in the near future.

Salon Forte Honors National Men’s Grooming Day

On Friday August 17th Salon Forte will join American Crew, the leading maker of men’s professional grooming products, plans to pay tribute to the American male during its National Men’s Grooming Day campaign.

Alan Benfield Bush Visits Salon Forte

Salon Forte was honored to have hosted a precision hair cutting class given by a protégé of Vidal Sassoon, the founder of ABBA Pure and Natural Products, a master hair stylist and renowned educator Alan Benfield Bush. Alan was on a promotional tour to spread the news about his new all-natural hair color product called Colure.

Alan Benfield Bush is recognized internationally as a motivational speaker, product innovator, artist, and educator in the fashion and beauty industry. He was also president and founder of ABBA Pure and Natural hair products. In 1997, Mr. Bush sold his product line, bought a ranch in Sonoma County, and pursued a dream he’d had since he was 19. He planted five acres of Pinot Noir vines and started Bush-Field Estate Vineyards & Winery.

After completing a three-year apprenticeship, Alan went on to own and operate several salons in England, eventually honing his skills at Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, where he achieved the level of Master Stylist. In 1973, Alan was named Managing Director of Education for Vidal Sassoon’s first North American Academy. There, he found his real love was teaching hairdressers how to develop technical artistry and communication and business management skills. Vidal is quoted saying, “Alan, your teaching ability amazes me and many others….” Alan was honored as Vidal Sassoon’s Famous Protégé at Vidal Sassoon’s 50th Anniversary in the beauty industry.

By the late 1970s, Alan founded his International Advanced Academies in San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles, where thousands of leading professional hairdressers flocked to learn and study what Alan had to offer. It was at this time that Alan authored the famous and much sought after methods of Condensed Cutting Technique, Condensed Perm Technique, Condensed Colour Technique and Condensed Setting Technique.

In 1983 Alan established the Alan Benfield Bush Academy – thus the creation of ABBA. In 1985, Alan changed the acronym to mean Achieve Balance of Business in Art and by 1988 Alan had successfully merged his educational methods from his ABBA Academy & Salon with top quality hair care products that globalized hair education. The ABBA line of products, founded by Alan and his partner, Jim Markham, was at the forefront of the green movement, promoting pure and natural ingredients with environmental awareness and educating professional hairstylists to become more personally and professionally successful.
